Hey foodie, hipster, photography lover, techie! We just want to say thank you for making Kettleman’s Bagel Co. so #Instagood!

Instagram & Kettleman’s – A Match Made in Heaven

Even if you’re not a self proclaimed foodie or photographer, there’s a good chance you’re aware of Instagram, the popular photo app that lets users engage with a worldwide community. Unlike Facebook and Twitter, Instagram effortlessly brings out the hidden photographer (and videographer) in all of us, and according to Instagram, images of food and pets are the top two favorites.

If you haven’t tried Instagram yet, you might want to set aside a couple of hours. It’s pretty addicting. Personally, I love it. Instagram provides me with the ability to snap a photo with my phone, throw on a cool filter, maybe a frame, and then #hashtag it for others to find. The hashtag is probably the most fun for me. Adding this little # to your images allows other Instagram users to find you, –not by your name, but by your current subject matter.

Here’s an example.

Let’s say you’re on vacation and out for a morning stroll. You decided to stop at a unique bagel shop on the corner (I think you can guess which one) and you’re completely blown away by the gem you’ve just discovered.

As you step inside, the smell of fresh ingredients and a wood-burning oven makes you feel as if you’ve stepped back in time. The open design allows you to watch as bakers roll and shape the bagels by hand, boil them in honey water, and then bake them right in front of your eyes. This must be what Old World goodness is all about. Checking your pocket, you feel for your cell phone. Still there. You’re not in a time warp.

Okay, so what’s next? Generally you’d step up to the counter and place your order, –but not always.

If you’re an Instagram user, you’re probably already snapping a few pictures of the action, right? That’s what this customer did:

Ottowa Catering

And then come the hashtags: #KettlemansBagelCo #Kettlemans #MontrealStyleBagels #BreakfastInOttowa #ThisIsAwesome #VacationGem #YouShouldBeJealous

Wait, it gets better. After you’ve ordered and are just about ready to bite into Kettleman’s goodness, you’re going to snap another picture, right? Here’s a couple of our favorites, — found when we searched the hashtags, #SuperHouseSpecial and #KettlemansBagels

Yep. We’ve witnessed diners pulling out their phones and snapping up tasty photos of our creations for the past couple of years, –and we like it!

Communication through images. It’s #Instagood and so are our customers!

The next time you come by for a visit, don’t be shy. We’re all very photogenic. At least WE think we are! Better yet, take pictures of the food. It’s ALWAYS photo ready! Be sure to tag at least one of your photos with the word #Kettlemans! We love checking out your thoughts and we may even use your image on our website.

Bottom line?–seeing your proud and picture-perfect images of our culinary creations really makes us happy! –and kind of hungry.
