This year at Kettlemans Bagel, we decided to switch things up for Father’s Day with two new gift ideas for Dad that he’ll really love. Something he will truly appreciate that’s not just another tie – this basket will take the guesswork out of Dad’s special day to show him you care. Our signature Kettlemans Bagel Basket is already wrapped and ready for pickup. Perfect for breakfast in the morning with your household, or a physically distant drop off to show him you care. Limited time only, while supplies last.

A portion of the proceeds from the purchase of each basket will be donated to Camp Misquah, an Ottawa based non-profit summer camp that provides a special residential camping experience for adults and children with special needs in a beautiful setting on Lac Bitobi near Gracefield, Quebec, about an hour north of Ottawa.

*baskets are subject to change slightly visually due to demand and colour availability.

The new program will effectively work the same way, but we will be primarily a points-based system. As of 4:30 p.m. EDT on March 22nd, 2021 – our old app will not work anymore.

At 9:00 a.m. EDT on Tuesday March 23rd, our new app will be available to download in your respective store. At that time, click the below links to get it:

We have setup a new login process to make it easy to access the new loyalty app. Once downloaded, we’ve made it easy to get going

Ottawa bagel institution dedicates day to Jacob Gauthier and organizes fundraiser and donation to the Ottawa Candlelighters

Ottawa/August 10th, 2017 – The 24 hour a day operation that is Kettleman’s Bagel Co was briefly brought to a pause, emotionally at least, with a heartfelt message received from a local mother at the beginning of August. Carolyn Gauthier’s son Jacob was diagnosed with muscular cancer in mid 2016 and had recently celebrated one full year since his last chemo treatment. She reached out to the popular business with a moving story.

“Throughout treatment, as it happens to some, the taste of certain foods did not agree with him. Your plain bagels, though not always able to finish one in a day, and your karnatzel meat sticks were his main stays. Even now a year later, with all clear MRIs and X-rays, bagels and karnatzels are a great treat. So without knowing it, you helped my son through a very difficult time”, said Mrs Gauthier. Read more

Whether you’re new to a Jewish family or just wanting to brush up on your Yiddish to impress your friends at Kettleman’s Bagel Company, there are a few words you’ll want to know the definition of.

A few of them have to do with our delectable menu items, because we know as well as you do, that ordering food when you’re not sure exactly what you’ll be served is equivalent to thrill seeking for some (not in a good way).

While we were going over our Jewish terminology, it sparked quite a few side conversations, so we thought it would be fun to provide you with more than just food, –although that’s always a great place to start. Our list below is a quick cheat sheet which will allow you to not only toss around some new terms when you come through the doors of Kettleman’s Bagel Company, –but maybe step into character and have a bit of an authentic conversation as well! In today’s world, busy work schedules are most often the biggest causes of stress in our lives. We have so many responsibilities, and when new opportunities present themselves, we just can’t seem to turn them down.

It’s easy to end up trying to juggle a schedule that leaves little to no time for enjoying your family, friends, or- gasp!- sitting on the couch doing absolutely nothing.

At the end of the day, though, most of us don’t win any awards for having to-do lists a mile long. While our hard work is appreciated by both our employers and the customers who depend on us, not being able to simplify our work schedule and have the ability to take time off to recharge each day can be extremely stressful and could result in feeling tired, worn out, and even depressed.

But how do you take a schedule that is so full and organize it so you can finally get that well-deserved down time? Read more
